Samagra Serilingampally

‘Samagra’ is defined as united and as a whole. Our campaign aims to bring holistic change and development to the collective Serilingampally constituency. By holistic change and development, we mean change at a grass root level, addressing problems and making progress by involving citizens.

<

Our principle is ‘Local Governance’. We firmly believe that a progressive nation is one that aims at development from the community level in a sustainable way, and it is possible through the Local Governance system. Decentralization of power from center and state to local government is needed to solve local problems like waste management, urban flooding, improper roads, healthcare accessibility, education and electricity issues, etc. Having power at grass root levels to solve local problems is what makes a decentralized democracy.

<

Our vision and mission are built on the principles of our nation’s founding members and leaders. We aim to make India a progressive nation, free from Social Discrimination, Economic Inequality, Environmental Damage, and Political Injustice. We aim to bring to life the kind of India our freedom fighters dreamed of before independence. Thus, the following is our agenda for bringing community-level change and development, starting with ‘Samagra Serilingampally,’ towards a progressive India.

6 Point - Manifesto for Samagra Serilingampally

Citizen Participation:

Problem : As per GHMC Act 2020, we citizens of Hyderabad have the right to participate in formulating government policies, but it has not happened.

Solution : I promise that we will form ‘ Ward committees ’ and run them monthly with the participation of people from all castes, religions, women, youth, poor, Experts, and NGOs.

Local Economy and Local Jobs:

Problem : Today’s youth are migrating from villages to towns, towns to cities, and cities to foreign countries. This migration is mainly due to a lack of proper job opportunities.

Solution : We form a Cooperative Mentorship Organization (CMO) with experts and other members. We will set up Small and Medium industries and start-ups under the cooperative system and provide jobs to the youth here.

Society-centered Education:

Problem : Today’s education system doesn’t focus on creative and critical thinking as much as it focuses on competitive exams and jobs. Also, students need proper guidance and skills to handle problems in their lives.

Solution : We will set up ‘Thinking Hubs’ in at least 3 separate locations in each ward. Children aged 8 – 15 years can use these to develop their creative and critical thinking skills.

Efficient Municipal System:

Problem : As we look at our colonies , we have potholed roads, overflowing sewerage water, poorly maintained Nalas, unclean public parks, and chaotic garbage management.

Solution : We will launch the ‘Citizen Sabha’ online platform and make it available to the public. Ward committee members will run it. It will keep all matters related to GHMC transparent and accessible to all, and resolve the municipal issues immediately.

Protecting Lakes and Biodiversity:

Problem: In 2020, all the people were troubled by the floods due to heavy rains in Hyderabad. The reason for the flooding here is because of the encroachment of Nalas and lakes and the construction of illegal buildings.

Solution : We will form a Nature conservation group and work with NGOs. This group prevents illegal encroachment and protects the lakes.

Accessible Healthcare:

Problem : During Covid, we gotto know that our medical system in Hyderabad is not working properly. Due to the lack of proper medical facilities, poor and middle-class people face difficulties getting adequate treatment.

Solution : Every year, 40% Funds of the MLA Constituency Development Programme (CDP) will be used to renovate existing hospitals and to build new ones.

Tackling the above-mentioned issues will play an instrumental role in bringing grass-root level change. Therefore, it will lead to successfully attaining and maintaining local governance and community sustainability
